The opioid epidemic is front and center in our communities (and in the national conversation), and health centers are on the front line of preparedness, response, and recovery for patients and their families affected by the crisis. Recent federal awards to integrate behavioral health and substance use disorder programming into health centers solidifies the importance of health centers in combating the opioid epidemic.

Brie Reimann, MPA, the Assistant Vice President of the National Council for Behavioral Health discussed the importance of behavioral health integration. Chris Shanahan, MD MPH FACP, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine, discussed practical strategies and case studies for getting starting with behavioral health integration in community health centers.
