Promising Practices for Substance Use Disorder Treatment

The opioid epidemic is front and center in our communities (and in the national conversation), and health centers are on the front line of preparedness, response, and recovery for patients and their families affected by the crisis. Recent federal awards to integrate behavioral health and substance use disorder programming into health centers solidifies the importance of health centers in combating the opioid epidemic.

This webinar will describe the importance of integrating behavioral health into primary care to achieve optimal outcomes for patients with substance use disorder. The webinar will highlight specific needs of vulnerable populations, including residents of public housing. Brie Reimann, MPA, the Assistant Vice President of the National Council for Behavioral Health will present on the importance of behavioral health integration. Chris Shanahan, MD MPH FACP, an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston University School of Medicine, will discuss practical strategies and case studies for getting starting with behavioral health integration in community health centers.

This webinar training is pending for 1.0 prescribed credit hour by the American Academy of Family Physicians. The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accepts AAFP CME toward it member continuing education requirements. Participants are eligible to receive one (1) CME/CNE credit.
